Additional Notes about the Eastern Zone Meeting

#1 - The Paragon Awards are FREE to EZ delegates and begin with a reception at 6 pm on Friday. I hope that anyone who can arrive in FLL in time for it will try to attend. It is a special recognition for many volunteers across all aquatic sports. Just like last year the winners' names are released early and the 2010 recipients are not known at this time. I know that some people were disappointed that I didn't share in advance with everyone that Carol Zaleski was a 2009 recipient. Sometimes the announcement of the winners is not until well after people have booked their flights. Enough about last year, I truly hope that more people will attend the Paragon awards this year. When announced the info will be posted at: www.ishof.org.

#2 - The DEAL that the EZ has for the ISHOF Induction Ceremony is fantastic. It's a BUY ONE - GET ONE FREE offer (not half price) and it was created with the idea that perhaps each LSC would buy at least ONE (two seats) TICKET to the Saturday, May 8th Induction Ceremony. This offer is ONLY AVAILABLE to those who register to attend the EZ Spring meeting. This special offer cannot be extended beyond April 23rd.

NBAC Coach Murray Stephens is being inducted and this is one of the top honors in all of aquatics so I hope we would do our best to get the word out and sign up prior to April 23rd. There is talk that 60 or more are coming from NBAC including Olympians that Murray has coached and also members of Murray's coaching staff. You never know which Olympians will be there but I am counting on some of the world's best swimmers and coaches to be present to show their appreciation for Coach Stephen's contributions.

There will be bus transportation from either the Courtyard Hotel or ISHOF to the Marriott Harbor Beach Hotel where the ISHOF Induction Ceremony will be held. This is about 1 mile from our hotel.

#3 - NEW RESERVATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 15th: We need your help to get the message out that the deadline should be April 15th and not April 23rd. While I am hoping that this will not be a problem, I can tell you that the hotel is going to be hard pressed to have rooms for everyone. We have booked 45 rooms for the UANA Conference already and ISHOF will soon be sending their invitations in the mail with an April 15th deadline. I am worried that some people will get shut out of the hotel.
